Features
Mac Inventory is a small, free tool that turns your Terminal output into a clear picture of everything installed on your Mac. Here is what it does today.
Runs entirely in your browser
Paste Terminal output and nothing is uploaded. Your data never leaves your machine. No account, no tracking, no cloud dependency.
One searchable inventory
Homebrew formulae, Homebrew casks, Apple Installer packages (.pkg) and Applications are all parsed into one filterable list.
Outdated detection
Compare installed versions against available versions so you know exactly which packages can be updated.
Dependency graph
See what a package depends on and, just as important, what other packages depend on it. Less risk of removing something something else needs.
System-component warnings
Items that are part of macOS or commonly required by the system are flagged so you do not remove them by accident.
Readable update & uninstall scripts
Select any items you want to manage and get a plain-text script you can review before running it in Terminal.
One command or four separate inputs
Copy a single Terminal command that collects everything at once, or paste the output of each command separately if you prefer.
No hidden actions
The tool never runs anything on your Mac. It only shows what is there and generates scripts for you to inspect and run yourself.
Local servers & listening ports
Coming soon: map listening ports and background items back to the app or process that opened them, so you know what is actually running.
Try it now
Run one command in Terminal, paste the output, and get your inventory with dependencies, outdated versions and system warnings.
